Picture it: Dublin, a dark and stormy night.
Suddenly, a chemical plant erupted in flames!
The fire alarm echoed through the streets, and the local fire department raced to the scene.
But, the plant’s president had a special request: the secret formulas locked away in the vault must be saved at all costs.
He offered 50k euro to any fire department that could get them out safely.
As the fire grew, more firefighters were called in, and the offer was upped to 100k euro.
But, the flames were too fierce.
Suddenly, a rusty old fire engine from the rural township volunteer brigade appeared, driven by a group of old-timer firefighters over 65.
They zoomed past the sleek, newer engines and charged straight into the fire.
These old-timers were fearless, and their bravery paid off.
They saved the secret formulas and extinguished the inferno, leaving the other firefighters in awe.
The chemical company president was so grateful that he upped the reward to a whopping 200k euro and personally thanked each firefighter.
A reporter asked the 70-year-old fire chief, Paddy, what they planned to do with all that money.
Paddy replied dryly,
“Well, the first thing we’re gonna do is fix the brakes on that bloody fire truck!”
